Alnes
is situated on a green headland on the north side of Godøy that is one of the
four islands that make up Giske rural council.
Alnes is one of the few remaining places on the West coast that has retained
the characteristic ”shoulder-to-shoulder” building style and still looks like a fishing
hamlet.
The boathouses nestle together along the harbour and behind lies the old village
with its two roads - Øvsteveien and Nesteveien.
Some new housing has appeared out towards the lighthouse that stands looking
out to sea on the end of the headland.
In the middle of the village you have the school. |
